The Purge before you Splurge

Moving items that have cumulated over a lifespan of 10+ years can be extremely overwhelming and exhausting. We recommend purging your items before taking that next step. Let’s face it … moving and creating a new space/environment can be pretty pricey. To help with the increase of splurging over the next month or so, it is beneficial to sell some of your existing items that you want to replace. For example, moving into a new space may require a larger or smaller couch. You can sell the couch on an online platform and use that money towards a new couch. It’s a win win! See below for some of the online selling platforms we recommend using:

Facebook Marketplace – Buy or sell new and used items easily on Facebook Marketplace through your personal Facebook profile. You can find great deals on local items or from local businesses. We recommend using Facebook Marketplace to reach a wider audience.

Poshmark – This online platform is best for selling clothes or any type of designer items. You can buy and sell fashion, home décor, beauty and more! Poshmark will require the seller to ship the items to the buyer. There is never an in-person exchange.

OfferUp – Instantly connect with local buyers and sellers on OfferUp by selling and buying everything from cars, electronics, furniture and more.  We find that OfferUp is the most successful for buyers.

It is important to note that all buyers and sellers should be hyper aware of their interactions and met ups to sell/buy an item. Always meet in a public setting. If you are unable to meet in a public setting and the item is being picked up from your personal residence, make sure you are not alone or notify someone close to you of your plans.
